EV Charger FAQ

Does my switchboard need an upgrade first?

Not always. Most modern switchboards have capacity for an EV charger. We assess yours before starting and will only recommend an upgrade if it's genuinely needed. If one is required, we'll quote it separately upfront.

Which EV charger brand should I choose?

It depends on your EV. Tesla owners often go with the Tesla Wall Connector. For other brands, Wallbox and Zappi are popular — Zappi is great if you have solar, as it can charge your car from excess solar generation.

Can I use a normal power point to charge my EV?

Yes, but it's very slow — typically 10–15km of range per hour. A Level 2 home charger gives you 40–80km of range per hour depending on your EV. For daily use, a dedicated charger is the practical choice.

How long does installation take?

Most installations are completed in 3–4 hours. If a switchboard upgrade is also needed, allow a full day.
